We had a lovely week, great food, helpful staff - overall excellent!

A wonderful Spring surprise. We booked this on a special offer and it was brilliant. Never visited Crete before but thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. Hotel fantastic! We loved the informal bungalow/low rise style of the property with beautiful gardens and small swimming pools dotted around the complex. Accommodation was first class with excellent facilities; food was prepared to a high standard and staff in every part of the hotel were attentive and helpful. We liked that the grounds meandered right onto the private beach which was well kept and safe. What we found most beautiful were the amazing views stretching from the beach, through the countryside to the breathtaking backdrop of the snow capped mountains. You could take it in all in one photo frame. We would definately chose Pilot Beach in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We hired a car for a day and explored the West of the island.

The food was excellent as was the accommodation, service and facilities.

We would certainly consider a return visit.

This was a brilliant hotel, I use a mobility scooter and it was the first time I had travelled abroad on my own, I was very concerned as to how I would cope, I did not need to worry, my room was lovely, fruit & wine on arrival, in the main part of the hotel with a wet room. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them, they always had time to be polite and courteous.

The restaurant was clean and bright, so much choice, I had a job to choose what to have to eat as it was all excellent and the fruit display, well it was just lovely, again the staff were very attentive. The animations team were brilliant, they kept everyone happy. Just a short walk away was a fantastic beach and a pretty little village (Georgeopoiou) with a lovely church at sea.

We love this hotel so much that I have now been more than once. I love the tranquil setting in the olive groves. Although there is a road between the hotel and the beach it is easily accessed with an underground tunnel. The food and facilities in this hotel are absolutely fantastic. The staff are very friendly and no request is too much trouble - especially at reception. The staff speak excellent English. I particularly like the spa - amazing massages and other treatments. I also love the fact that there is a beautiful indoor pool if the weather is bad (not very often in my experience). There is a stunning natural lake nearby that can be accessed from the hotel daily on a dotto train. Worth a visit. It is very easy to catch a bus to local towns such as Chania or Rethymon both worth visiting. Best part of the Pilot Beach for me is the food. Delicious and several restaurants to choose from. If you have young children there are kids activities every evening. If you are coming as a couple you might prefer to eat at the restaurant down by the beach as this is quieter in the evenings. We would definitely come again!

We really enjoyed our holiday in Crete. The narrow streets in the nearby town with appealing, diverse shops and full of character. The ancient ruins near Heraklion were fascinating. The hotel itself had plenty of facilities - table tennis, archery, indoor swimming and planned evening entertainment was especially good.

Pilot Beach is a beautiful hotel complex set next to a lovely large sandy beach.

There are several restaurants to choose from, all serving a huge choice of food. Chania and Rethymnon are within a short drive East and West of the hotel. Buses stop nearby if you don't have a hire car.

The only problem we had was the clouds seem to gather above the hotel, due to the very high mountains behind, so some days we had to drive down the coast to get some sun.

My daughter, aged 29, and myself really enjoyed our week at the Pilot Beach Hotel in April 2014.

We had good weather and were able to sunbathe on the loungers on the beach as well as swim in the many hotel pools.

The buffet restaurant was excellent, as my daughter says 'That was a lovely hotel with really good food.'

It was also near enough to the bus route to be able to visit Knossos and the town of Chania with ease.

You could walk to the nearby village for a quiet evening drink. Overall a very relaxing holiday.

Second time we have visited in 2 years.Staff were very approachable and obliging and the deal was excellent value for money. Pity the weather wasn't better as it rained every day and was quite cold but this is to be half expected as we visited in late October during the Notts school holidays. Would definitely return but maybe not as late in the year.

We loved our stay at the Pilot Beach Hotel. Ticked all of the boxes for a relaxing family holiday. Would not recommend visiting Crete during the Easter break, weather wasn't the best. Would love to return to the Pilot Beach during the Whit or summer holiday. Strongly recommend!

After an upgrade due to overbooking was resolved (Blue Flag Europe had invaded the resort for their conference) we had the most enjoyable time. It was close to the end of season and the hotel was fairly quiet once the conference had ended. There was still plenty to do and good entertainment. The sea was surprisingly warmer than the pool. We were full board and the food was varied and a very good quality. With only one exception (the receptionist on arrival was very "jobs worth") all the staff were efficient and helpful. I would definitely consider returning again.

There was a choice of 3/4 restaurants all serving excellent quality and varied food.

There was daytime activities which I took advantage of and there was also evening entertainment.

Crete is such a fantastic island with so much to see and do. We loved our Greek Island Paradise!

Hoping to go back sometime soon.

We had our 25th Wedding anniversary at Pilot Beach and our hosts made it all very special. Not sure we've stayed at a better resort!

Chose the hotel as an offer from Travelzoo for an autumn break with our son before his A levels finals. Loved the service and location and great weather for October (ahead of the incoming storm!). Great beach, wonderful local food opportunities and excellent on site service.

The Pilot Beach is an amazing hotel, the rooms, the food and all the facilities are definately 5*. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

There is a lovely sandy beach with free sun loungers on and a very attentive life guard.

Drinks were a little expensive, to be expected I guess, there is a small shop where you could buy water and other drinks for your room and not overly priced.

The little train that runs from the hotel is a great asset, it takes you to the next village, I can't remember if it was Georgiopolis! There are a couple of bars and gift shops etc.

The only down side for me (I am 69 with arthritic knees, so can't walk too far) is that the resort is very large and spread out, apart from that I would not hesitate to recommend Pilot Beach.

Loved it - such friendly staff and wonderful being right by the pool so we could watch the kids while we had a pre diner drink on the balcony... Food was delicious!
